Prepare to get wet on this tour – it is guaranteed! The tour starts a few kilometers up the mountain with a short 20 min hike through the rainforest to the starting point.
The first descent starts on the side of a waterfall, so that you get to practice the process of rappelling without juggling the water – at least until the second waterfall. In total, there are 8 descents down waterfalls, a handful of smaller cascades that are carefully climb down, and some hiking through the waterway between rappels.
Safety Considerations: The tour is relatively physically demanding and is a relatively high-risk activity, and as a result we have certain restrictions on who can come on the tour. If you have any of the following conditions, unfortunately we cannot bring you on the tour with us:
- Recent surgeries (within the last 10 weeks)
- Heart problems or CVD
- Unmanaged high blood pressure
- Unmanaged diabetes
- Parkinson’s Disease
- Loss of limb (upper extremity), or physical inability to use both arms/hands
- Vertigo
If you are pregnant, we are also not able to take you with us. We also have a weight limit of 260 pounds (120kg) for the tour. Keep in mind that each descent will require you to slowly lower yourself down the incline – so if you have any condition that restricts the strength in your hands and forearms (or if you doubt that you can control your descent) then we likely won’t be able to take you on the tour.
